Sitting Disease
Sitting too much can have big consequences, but it’s not too late to take a stand.
I’ve got some important news, are you sitting down? Then you should stand up.
Because sitting for long hours is linked to a whole lot of problems. It’s even been referred to as “sitting disease.”
Studies have tied too much sitting to high belly fat, heart disease, blood clots, high blood sugar, cancer, and even death.
And unfortunately, exercising can’t undo the harm of sitting all day long.
So is it just hopeless? Not at all! You can solve this problem by breaking up the time you spend sitting.
Set a reminder on your phone at work if you need to. Get up every 30 minutes if you can, even if it’s just a walk to the break room.
When you’re watching TV at home, take a lap around the house during the commercials.
